Description

This picture frame is USA handmade by the same highly skilled woodworker who makes my wood kidney boxes listed nearby. The frame is beautifully crafted with fine detail from inlay to double sanding between layers and fine finishing . The kidney shaped opening is perfect for a photo of a recipient and living donor together after a transplant or for an milestone kidneyversary or a holiday gift. The wood inlay adds a nice contrast and richness to the design. NOTE: You’ll need to select Priority shipping on frames during check out. Once packed/labled, it will be over the First Class shipping weight of 15 oz. which puts it to Priority territory at USPS.

I have 3 choices in wood, each listed separately. This one is Cherry with Walnut inlay. There are 2 other listings with this same design but made of Oak with Walnut Inlay and another of Walnut with Curly Maple Inlay.

Outside dimensions are 5″ x 7.” The kidney opening is 5″ across. One kidney lobe is 2.5″ high and the other is 2.75″ high. There is a piece of glass to cover the photo and 4″ x 6″ backing matboard is held in place by two wings for easily removing or adding photos. The frame is made for a horizontal format, but you can easily add a small sawtooth hanger if you want to hang a vertical formatted photo instead. I sometimes have easel backings for tabletop so the frame can be placed in either horizontal or vertical position. I will include one if I have them in stock, but I have difficulty locating ones that are cut properly to fit well.

The carved out hanging slot is designed so the frame lays flush on the wall. The slot is wide enough so the frame can slide back and forth to locate the perfect level.

Shipping is by Priority on this piece since it involves glass. If you are shipping outside of the US, I can ship it without glass if don’t mind getting a 4″ x 6″ piece locally. It might save you money in the long run for shipping and aggravation in case the glass breaks along the way.
