Sorry, Sold Out! Transplant Gift -Etched Sterling Tree of Life Tag with Kidney Pendant-Living Kidney Donor or Recipient

This was a top selling item on both my website and in my Etsy shop, but the maker of this tag has, sadly decided to discontinue it. I haven’t found anything similar, but will keep looking at trade shows now that they are beginning to slowly open again for shows. I inquired about placing a custom order with the designer and see about the quantity required, but so far, haven’t heard back. This is the newest Tree of Life with Kidney in my collection of Transplant Gifts. Appropriate for either kidney donor or recipient, any gender, this small sterling pendant has a tree etched on one side and 925 marking on the backside, leaving room if you want your local jeweler to engrave it. (Sorry, I don’t offer engraving services.) There is a teeny kidney bean that hangs above the tree, or it can be moved to the backside, if desired, as shown in the 2nd to last photo. Both the rectangular tag and kidney were made in Thailand. I found the components at different gem/bead shows. I enjoy locating parts when I go to gem shows that can be put together in new ways for my designs. The standard length sterling chain for this piece is 18.” Should you need a shorter (16″) or longer one (20″), please include a message on the payment and let me know which one you prefer.

The idea for this line of jewelry came to me after I became a kidney recipient in 2002. I had been a full time jewelry designer by trade since 1991. The Kidney collection was inspired by the fact that I could not locate a meaningful gift for my own living donor at the time of our transplant. I soon began creating meaningful, symbolic gifts and found that others were also searching for special gifts for the Heroes in their lives. Receiving the Gift of Life is one of love, awe and gratitude. My goal is to create new ways to say Thank You and present a token of gratitude for this extraordinary gift.

There are thousands of kidney patients in need of a transplant but only a fraction of them are lucky enough to have a living donor. It is a life altering experience to receive such a remarkable, unselfish gift of a kidney. I aim to create gifts of gratitude that symbolize both the transplant itself and the amazing Hero who provided it. Many of my items have also been purchased as memorial gifts of gratitude for a family member of a deceased donor. My jewelry can be a touching and thoughtful gift in the event of a meeting between the donor family and their loved one’s kidney recipient.

The Tree of Life is a perfect symbol for transplants. Trees symbolize the continuity and growth that transplant provide. As metaphors for limbs that reach both upwards and around us, these designs represent love, an umbrella of protection plus the opportunity to grown into something healthy and beautiful. A card with the Tree of Life meaning is included. NOTE : I do not offer engraving services. That needs to be done by your local jeweler. Some do hand engraving, but most do it by machine now. I recommend calling around for prices. They may need to see the piece first, Ask them what fonts they would recommend for your message and allotted space.
