Vintage Kidney Shaped Pin with 2 Angels Transforms to a Heart!

The photos show 2 pins, but the heart transforms itself into the long pin/brooch and the long pin can transform into the heart shape! Just by flipping up the bottom angel section and giving it a half twist, the angels fall into place in the center of the kidney and form the point at the bottom creating a heart. OK, that was a REALLY long sentence but until you have the pin in your hand, it may not make sense. I have no idea if this was designed to do this, but I discovered it soon after I found them at a vintage jewelry supply warehouse, so now they are a Novelty item in addition to being an interesting vintage item. I bought all they had not knowing what I would do with them. A few are just the kidney top alone.

I am guessing that they are at least 50 years old, perhaps a decade or two older. They have no markings. but they have never been circulated into world of  jewelry, so are basically new. Most, however, have dark spots on the backside, I’m not exactly sure what caused it but they hadn’t seen the light of day in decades, so it may be caused by the acid in the storage boxes. I don’t find this an issue since the backside doesn’t show anyway, but that’s me and you should be aware that it’s there. I’ll test each pin mechanism  before shipping as some are tight. I will ship all the best ones purchased first. I’ll try to oil a few and it will probably help.

I don’t know the full metal content. It looks to be tin plated though, very shiny. The Victorian design is charming and I thought these would be fun to add to the website.
