Description
These pendants are made from a great older stash of uncirculated pendants (never out of original packages). I thought these they were gone years ago. but just unearthed a bag of them in my storage area. The shape is called a Double Koru, which is a design style similar to one of the Maori people of New Zealand. It means a bonding of two people who grow within the same circle of life…a perfect symbol for transplants! There are only a handful of the dark green, but a good supply of these lighter greens in slightly different shades of natural green Jade gemstone. Please see separate listing for the dark green kidney Double Koru. Once all of these are gone, they’re gone. I’ve had them in storage at least 15 years.
The light green is Nephrite Jade from Canada’s beautiful British Columbia, one of the world’s richest sources. The color is determined by the level of Iron in the stone. Low levels produce light colors like the light green here, white or yellows and higher iron levels produce the rich dark greens, among other dark colors. These Maori styled designs were most often worn by men, today they are worn by all genders. They run between $50-$60, depending on color. Did you know that green is the international color symbol of transplantation? Information will be included with each order.
If you’re searching for similar or matching gift ideas for both living kidney Donor and Recipient, these would be a great choice whether they were for the same or different genders.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please be sure to include a message if you want the either color Kidney on a sterling chain at 16,” 18.” or 20″ OR if you prefer the smooth silicone and stainless cord at either 18″ or 20.”
