Floating Golden Kidney Pendant-Angled Heart Shape-Kidney Transplant Donor or Recipient Gift, Memory Pendant or Valentine

These are part of my “Golden Kidney” jewelry series. Besides this heart shaped pendant, there is another listing of a heart with straight sides, a smooth metal round one as well as a round one with crystals. Other items in the series include sterling prayer boxes with Golden Kidneys hidden inside, Tree of Life cases with golden kidneys and glass hearts inside. These are sweet, simple pendants, 28mm for the heart and a bit larger for the rounds. They all have metal stainless cases with glass windows on both sides. Each comes on an 18″ or 20″ chain of stainless steel, depending on stock levels. Chain styles may vary from photo due to stock levels from my suppliers.

These lockets are similar to a watch case which is hinged to open but closes with strong magnets. They are sometimes called floating pendants because of the floating appearance of what’s put inside. They can also be viewed as memory lockets/pendants. I see them as gentle reminders of the significant Gift of Life given or received. In this case, the star attraction is the Kidney bead, symbolizing how truly Golden a kidney transplant is. For recipients, it represents the Golden opportunity of a new and healthy life. For living donors, or as a touching gift to family members of donors, it represents the meaningful gift of a kidney donated to someone in need, a truly life altering gift. The kidney inside is made of gold plated pewter and rests on a bed of tiny glass seed beads in a silvery color that varies slightly from piece to piece. Everything moves around. It’s a little kidney floating on a sea of glass. This will also have a tiny red glass heart, not shown in photos.

Please NOTE: Take care if you have a pacemaker since there are magnets around the inside rim of the pendants. Also, if you have curious small children around, be sure to keep these pendants safely out of their reach due to the small parts inside. I recommend that you carefully open the case and add a few small drops of glue to the inner rim to keep it tightly closed. This is best done without children or pets nearby in case the contents spill.

I’ve been a kidney recipient since 2002 and was fortunate to have a wonderful and Heroic living donor who gave my life back to me after a decade of dialysis. The items I design and create come from my own transplant experience and from my heart.
